THE CLUB

SNCC has put cricket back on the map in East London — and we’re only just getting started!

Based at Hackney Marshes, we’ve built a thriving, ambitious home for the game, bringing together a passionate community of players, coaches and supporters who love cricket and want to play it well.

Our adult section is booming. We field five men’s teams in the Middlesex County Cricket League on Saturdays, alongside three friendly XIs (playing on Saturdays, Sundays and midweek) and two T20 teams competing midweek in the Victoria Park Community Cricket League.  Our fast-growing women’s section is just as ambitious, currently fielding two teams in the Middlesex Women’s Cricket League.  Last summer our Women’s 1s won the Sheila Hill Trophy and earned promotion to the top division, while our Stokey Spitfires finished second in the Gina Bogan Women’s midweek T20 league.  We offer competitive cricket throughout the week for cricketers of all levels and aspirations.

Since our rebirth in 2008, we’ve also become one of London’s most successful junior clubs, with over 300 girls and boys and 22 junior teams from Under 8 to Under 21.  Last summer one of our former juniors made her first-class debut for Middlesex Women, while another played international cricket for Germany’s women’s team.

At SNCC, our mission is simple: to give as many adults and young people as possible the chance to enjoy cricket and reach the highest standard they can. We offer year-round weekly training, led by a friendly, dedicated team of professional coaches who are serious about development — and serious about having fun.

In 2018, the club took another huge step forward with the opening of a state-of-the-art pavilion, new nets, and on-site parking, made possible with support from Hackney Council, the ECB, and the Football Foundation.

Whether you’re picking up a bat for the first time or looking for a club that will push your game to the next level, we’d love to have you.

We welcome new members aged 5 to 105 to London’s friendliest, most inclusive and fastest-growing cricket club.
